THE EXPERIENCE

On arrival you will be personally welcomed by Smiljan, our trusted concierge.  A fountain of local knowledge, he is available to assist you with any questions you may have to enhance your stay and your overall Istrian experience.

The region is extremely rich both historically and culturally and is a gourmet's dream.  Villa Oliva is located in the heart of the region's wine and olive oil roads, and overlooks the verdant forests, home to the precious Istrian white and black truffle.  For history lovers, the offerings are endless and easily accessible and include ancient Roman and Byzantine treasures that will take your breath away ...

If it is relaxation you are looking for, then look no further, as it truly is difficult to tear yourself away from the tranquility and luxury of the villa.  We can even arrange for dinner to be prepared on-site by a local chef if your holiday calls for a night off!

Whatever the experience you are seeking in Istria, our villas are the perfect base ...

"We stayed at Villa Oliva for a week in July 2019. It's a unique, beautiful, and luxurious villa with a down to earth spirit. It feels home. Villa is designed with a style and it has a soul. Floor plan is smart and makes it easy to stay for a bigger group of people also. You have your own privacy when you need it and space to spend time together. Our group of two families, 8 people, including 2 kids, enjoyed the atmosphere of Oliva and surroundings. So much, that we have made a re-booking for the next summer.

Location next to Buje is great. You can find decent grocery store, bakery, butcher and restaurants easily. Within 15-30 min drive there are great restaurants, some true culinary treasures. Also nearby costal cities of Rovinj, Porec and Umag are absolutely worth of visit. Not to mention nearby Motovun. Also city of Trieste in Italy is within an hour drive.

Istria is a very special place on our planet. It has a micro-climate that I think you can not find from anywhere else in Europe, Adriatic sea effecting from one side and relatively close Austrian alps from the other side. Istria is green, fresh, and beautiful.

One really important element of Villa Oliva is house keeper Smiljan. You can ask him to create a special dinner to be served at Villa, you can ask tips for restaurants, you can ask almost everything, and he delivers."

"We are really enjoying the house and also Istria.  This part of Istria is truly beautiful and we are actually feeling more like in Tuscany then in Croatia :) The house is just perfect and we really feel great here also with the kids.

It's really true, that besides the great location, the house itself is really an experience. Not only the size, but pick of the furniture, materials and equipment make it really an extraordinary place to stay."

Jan G, Slovakia (August 2019)
